I now established my residence in Portugal, and realized that I didn't travel outside Europe for a long time. The travel with the van made me discover the benefits of slow traveling, and better understand what are the experiences I am looking for. I wouldn't feel comfortable living a "digital nomad" life where taking a place is like taking the bus, where there are no limits of space and time. I wouldn't feel comfortable either being restrained to not take the plane at all for ecological reasons. I am somewhere in between, I want to live in a compromise that I think is respectful for the planet, the people, and for me. If you want to put a word on this lifestyle, call it "neo-hippie" :) Let's experiment this compromise for real ! In South America, Brazil, during 3 months I am going to travel by plane, foot, bike, bus, boat, tractor?, horse? ... I'm also going to adopt a mid-term trip planning strategy: I plan my transport and accommodations more or less 1 week in advance, and update the map accordingly for you to follow. Let's see how it goes !
